Sanxi Tang - European Custom Series - Star of Bethlehem

The Star of Bethlehem, a celestial dagger that has been in the making for quite some time, has finally been completed just before Christmas. Named after the Star of Bethlehem, which is traditionally placed atop Christmas trees, this star is said to have illuminated the morning skies of Bethlehem when Jesus was born in a stable, nearly two thousand years ago. Additionally, the Star of Bethlehem is the birth flower for March 19th, associated with Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus.

Crafted from hand-forged Damascus steel, this dagger features a unique pattern created by inserting steel balls into a steel casing, melting the mixture, and then repeatedly folding and forging it to form the desired texture. A classic sword design was chosen, with a thick piece of material used for the blade. The blade features large concave grinds on both sides, with S-curves and thinning towards the point, creating variations in curvature in three directions in space. The tip retains thickness, adding layers of depth to the design.

The guard is made from the same Damascus steel as the blade, with a gradient color transition inspired by the famous golden dome of Jerusalem, above which lies the dazzling starry sky. The golden hue seamlessly connects with blue-purple tones, symbolizing the unity of heaven and earth.

The handle is crafted from high-quality mammoth ivory, which has a jade-like texture, smooth and full of character. A cross-shaped shield, made from the same Damascus steel as the blade, is embedded in the middle of the handle, a design inspired by the Crusaders. The same shield is also embedded at the tail of the handle.
